Savvy Seniors-New Accessible Computer Demo In-Person

Join us every Monday for "Savvy Seniors," an exciting and interactive class designed for senior citizens who are curious about the world around them! This unique program goes beyond basic tech lessons to explore a wide range of engaging topics, including science, technology, environmental awareness, art, and music.

Each session features a guest expert who will guide participants through fun, hands-on activities—from planting your own herbs to creating art, experimenting with science, and even exploring the therapeutic power of music. Whether you’re looking to enhance your tech skills, discover new hobbies, or simply enjoy stimulating conversations with peers, this class has something for everyone.

OpenBook - this is a really neat software that works with the wand reader that's set up on the computer station. It scans a book or page and reads it out loud.
JAWS - Jaws is another screen reader software that reads websites and computer documents aloud
Zoom text - a magnifier software
Read&Write - a literacy support tool that offers help with everyday tasks like reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, researching assignments and proofing written work.
